Chocolate Cake Print E-mail

INGREDIENTS:
 
  • 2 cups boiling water
  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 2 1/4 cups sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
 
DIRECTIONS:
 
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease 2 - 9 inch round cake pans. Boil the water and pour it over cocoa, then whisk until smooth. Let mixture cool. Mix together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt; set aside.
In a large bowl mix butter and sugar with a wooden spoon until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs one at time, then stir in vanilla. Add the flour mixture alternately with the cocoa mixture. Spread batter evenly between the 2  pans.
Bake in preheated oven for 25 to 30 minutes. Allow to cool. Ice it with chocolate icing.

  • 1 cup water
  • 1 2-inch knob fresh ginger root, sliced
  • 6 green tea bags
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 3 cups club soda
  • 4 lime wedges
 
Bring water and ginger root to a boil. Remove from heat and add tea bags.Steep for 5 minutes, then press tea bags with back of a spoon to extract excess liquid. Remove and discard bags and ginger root. Whisk sugar into tea until completely dissolved. Pour tea over ice in a large pitcher. Stir in club soda. Pour into 4 glasses. Garnish with a squeeze of lime.

  • 7 to 8 pound chicken wings
  • 4 cups of ketchup
  • 2-1/2 cups packed brown sugar
  • 1-1/3 cups water
  • 1  cup hot sause
  • 1/3 cup Worcestershire sauce
  • 2-1/2 teaspoons chili powder
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder

Place the chicken wings in greased baking pan. In a large bowl, combine the remaining ingredients. Pour over wings. Bake, uncovered, at 350° for 1 hour or until chicken juices run clear. Spoon sauce from pan over wings if desired.

  • 2 pounds of salmon fillet
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 3-4 tablespoons salt
  • pepper
  • 1 lemon juice
  • some dill
Rub the salmon with sugar,salt and peppers. Squeeze the lemon juice, and sprinkle some dill on the salmon. Place the salmon into dish, cover it with plastic wrap and leave for 2-3 days in a fridge. Then take it out, wash it with warm water and its good to eat. Slice it thinly. Serve with toasted white bread and butter. Tastes grate on sandwiches.
